Norwood Manor NeighborhoodNorwood Manor is a quiet community, located in southeast Atlanta, GA five miles south of Five Points, near the Lakewood Fairgrounds and the historic South View Cemetery. This middle class community has existed since the late 1940's. It is one of the first subdivisions developed by African Americans for African Americans in Atlanta, annexed in 1952 as part of a larger expansion of Atlanta into southeast Fulton County. The original residents were hard working middle class families from all walks of life: postal workers, steel workers, railroad employees, school teachers, entrepreneurs, etc. Today's families in "The Manor" are similar in makeup.
