Tax Allocation Districts
District 1 is home to two Tax Allocation Districts to spur redevelopment in our neighborhoods. A tax-allocation district (TAD), also known as tax increment financing, is a defined area where real estate property tax monies gathered above a certain threshold for a certain period of time (typically 25 years) to be used a specified improvement. TADs are one of the City of Atlanta's key economic development tools.

The plan brings together and addresses all aspects of community and economic functions with the objective of sustaining and improving these functions in the future. It addresses, but is not limited to the following topics: population, economic development, housing, natural resources, historic resources, community facilities, transportation, urban design, and land use.
